I’ve worked at Magic Kingdom for a little over a year and have only a handful of times seen The Rainy Day Parade instead of Celebrate a Dream Come True Parade because of weather conditions. Today it’s pretty dreary but not too rainy and even on days worse than this they’ve usually just canceled Move it, Shake it but today they decided to do a Rainy Day Parade and all of us cast members ran to the doors to see what our eyes would be observing and it was a cute alternative for the parade, everyone was in their normal parade costumes except with matching rain gear and the characters were all in vehicles and in the midst of all the excitement Mary Poppins penguin was randomly on board the double decker when he’s no where in that parade at all so that gave us all a laugh. I love days when I work and things that don’t normally happen do and I get the chance to experience it :) have a magically rainy day everyone!
So with my phone broke and internet recently cut off I have zero means of communication except when I steal my fiance’s phone at work or a McDonalds so zero shame that while he works for 2 more hours I walked home from work, changed and walked my happy butt up to costuming and am using wifi from work in order to use Facebook and Tumblr. I’m going through serious withdrawl of not having any source of technology to keep me busy and because of that I’ve been going to bed at like 9:30-10pm. I feel like a grandma (but not my grandma’as because they’re super cool and stay up till midnight lol). Any who I need social contact, I need TUMBLR PEEPS! Someone write me random questions or just write me to chat because I neeeeeeeds :D
I love when I’m working & someone at work makes me smile and just overall enjoy my day. Yesterday I was working the photo area for merch in Magic Kingdom and while a mom & dad were waiting on their photos I saw that they had a little princess with them so I went over to say hi. After I made it over to her I noticed she was wearing an Ariel outfit that looked like it was out of the 70’s and I did different ooing and awing at how adorable she looked. The princess was loving the attention so much that she decided a game was in order so she started hiding behind her hands and so peek-a-boo began. Everytime she peeked and saw that I could see her she would go into a fit of giggles. This went on for about 10 minutes while mom & dad finished up & when they started to go on their way she still wasn’t finished with her game so she keep looking back and continued to play until we were out of sight of one another. It wasn’t a huge magical experience but sometimes little memories like that really brighten your day :)
